The Humboldt Graduate School

The Humboldt Graduate School was founded as an umbrella organization for structured doctoral programs at the Humboldt University of Berlin. The task of this institution is to create excellent framework conditions for the doctorate as the first independent research achievement in the career of scientists.

The member programs of the Humboldt Graduate School meet high quality standards both in the supervision of doctoral candidates and in excellent academic training. Questions of internationality and equal opportunities play a major role in the selection of candidates and in supporting doctoral candidates.

It is the task of the Humboldt Graduate School to ensure the quality of doctoral training. To this end, it has developed a number of measures, some of which it applies itself, but whose implementation is also partly the responsibility of the faculties.

The office of the Humboldt Graduate School offers its members numerous services. For example, it supports doctoral students with target group-oriented services and key competence events. It represents the member programs at events and ensures that the graduate education at Humboldt University is well known nationally and internationally.
