The School of Social Development and Public Policy of Fudan University is a college that focuses on the first-level disciplines of sociology, and has the advantages of psychology, public management, population resources, and environmental economics. There are now four departments and two departments: Department of Sociology, Department of Social Work, Department of Psychology, Department of Social Management and Social Policy, Institute of Population, and Institute of Anthropology and Ethnic Studies. There is a post-doctoral mobile station for the first-level discipline of sociology. The sociology discipline of Fudan University is a key construction discipline of "985 Project", "211 Project", and "Double First Class", and a first-class discipline in Shanghai universities. In the fourth round of subject evaluation by the Ministry of Education, the first-level subject of sociology was rated as category A. According to ESI indicators, some areas of this discipline have reached the international advanced level. According to the 2015-2018 QS World University Rankings, Fudan University's sociology discipline is ranked among the top 51-100 in the world, among the top ten in Asia and the top three in mainland China.
