Degree Duration: How Long Does It Take to Study Medicine in Spain?

In Spain, completing a medical program takes six years of full-time study. During the first years of your studies, you will mostly focus on studying pre-clinical medicine where you will learn more about the fundamentals of medical studies in subjects such as physics, biology, physiology, basic anatomy, and you will also learn about the different processes that happen in our organ systems.

During the end of your degree you will complete your pre-clinical training, and then continue your clinical studies under the supervision of doctors. After completing this period of six years you can then go on to specialize in one of the many fields of medicine. For example, in Spain, tuition fees for a degree in medicine range from EUR 500 ($590) to EUR 1500 ($1,770) per year. On the other hand, private universities can charge their students from EUR 3000 ($3,541) to EUR 20,000 ($23,610) per year for a degree in Medicine.

Now, even though a medical degree takes quite a lot of time to complete, it offers a high average salary.
